These Terms are a contract between you and Wandering Castle LLC("PrayerGate", "we", "us"), a Wyoming single-member limited liability company in the United States. They govern your use of the PrayerGate mobile application and related services. By downloading, installing, or using the app you agree to these Terms and to the End User License Agreement. The English-language text is the sole authoritative, controlling, and governing version of these Terms and of every PrayerGate legal document. Any Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, or other translation is provided for convenience only; in the event of any conflict, inconsistency, ambiguity, or difference in interpretation, the English version governs and prevails, except where the mandatory law of your country of residence requires your local language to be used or to prevail, and only to that extent.
1. What PrayerGate is
PrayerGate is a broad-Christian devotional app in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. It offers a prayer gate that, using the device's Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS) or usage-access tools (Android), places a daily verse and a short prayer in front of apps you choose; a verse widget; and a short curated prayer matched to a mood you select, behind an optional paid subscription with a 3-day free trial. PrayerGate is a devotional and habit tool. It is not a counseling, medical, mental-health, or emergency service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use PrayerGate. It is not directed to anyone under 18. The app uses anonymous authentication by default; you can use it without giving us a name or email. You are responsible for activity through your device. If you choose to give us your email for reminders and your daily verse, you consent to receive those emails and can unsubscribe at any time, at no cost; how we handle your email is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. The subscription
PrayerGate is a paid app with no free tier. Full access (the gate, unlimited gated apps, all available translations, Catholic-mode depth, prayer history, all widget styles, streak restoration) requires a subscription, which starts with a 3-day free trial. Annual: $39.99 USD per year with a 3-day free trial. Monthly: $8.99 USD per month, no trial. A lower-cost weekly option may be offered in some regions. Exact prices are shown on the paywall in your local currency before you purchase.
4. Auto-renewal, trial, and billing
PrayerGate subscriptions are auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which act as the merchant of record. If you start a free trial, you are not charged during the trial; unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the trial converts to a paid subscription. Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase; we never see or store your payment-card details. We send a reminder before a trial converts.
5. Managing and cancelling your subscription
You can cancel at any time and keep premium access until the end of the current paid period. To cancel, open your device Settings, go to your Apple Account or Google Play subscriptions, select PrayerGate, and tap Cancel. We do not place obstacles in front of cancellation. The app may offer at most one optional, clearly-labeled retention offer, which never blocks or hides the cancel path.
6. Refunds and consumer withdrawal rights
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their media-services terms; use their "Report a Problem" / refund pages. In addition, mandatory consumer law in your country may give you a withdrawal or cooling-off right:
EU/EEA and UK: a 14-day right of withdrawal applies to digital content and services, but it can be waived where the service begins immediately with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right once performance has begun; the store's purchase flow obtains this consent. Brazil: under Art. 49 of the Consumer Defense Code, you may cancel within 7 days of purchase, without justification, for a full refund; if the store will not process it within that window, contact us at support@getprayergate.com and we will honor it. Other regions: nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable consumer right you have under the mandatory law of your country.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose, attempt to bypass or reverse-engineer its security or subscription mechanics, manipulate the prayer or gate features to violate these Terms or the no-impersonation rule, use the app to harass or harm others or to coerce another person's device usage, or resell or redistribute the app or its content except as the licenses permit.
8. No medical, mental-health, or crisis advice
PrayerGate is not a medical device, a mental-health service, a counseling service, or an emergency service. Its content, including its prayers, is devotional and is not medical, psychological, or professional advice. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. The app surfaces crisis resources where it can, but it cannot and does not provide emergency help.
9. Spiritual content
PrayerGate offers broad-Christian devotional content and curated prayers. It is not a church, not a substitute for clergy, and not a theological authority. Any prayer is written for you to pray, in your own voice, addressed to God.
10. Intellectual property and license
The app, its design, code, brand, and original text are owned by Wandering Castle LLC or its licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app under these Terms and the EULA. The app uses the King James Version (English, public domain) and the Reina-Valera 1909 (Spanish, public domain), and the Bíblia Livre (Portuguese), which is © Diego Santos, Mário Sérgio and Marco Teles and licensed under CC BY 4.0, used with attribution. Devotional sources are public domain or used with permission. See the Legal Notice for full scripture credits.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Screen Time / usage-access gate, which depends on your device's operating system and which you can disable in device Settings (the gate is cooperative, not coercive). To the extent applicable law does not permit exclusion, we do not exclude liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, or under mandatory consumer-protection law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Where PrayerGate is offered
PrayerGate is operated from the United States and offered in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. It is not offered in or directed to mainland China. We make the app available globally through the app stores subject to local availability and law.
13. Changes and termination
We may update features and these Terms; we will post a new "Last updated" date and, where the law requires, notify you of material changes before they take effect. You may stop using the app at any time.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, and, where it applies, by the Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules and without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rule of your country of residence that applies to you and cannot be waived by agreement. Subject to the arbitration section below, the state and federal courts located in Wyoming are the exclusive venue, except where mandatory law gives you the right to sue in the courts of your country of residence.
15. Binding arbitration and class-action waiver (United States)
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to sue in court, to a jury trial, and to take part in a class action. You can opt out within 30 days.
Where it applies. This section applies to you, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, if you are in the United States. It does not apply, and does not operate, where your local mandatory consumer-protection law makes a pre-dispute or compulsory consumer-arbitration agreement or a class-action waiver void or unenforceable, including for consumers in Brazil (Consumer Defense Code, Lei nº 8.078/1990, art. 51, which treats a clause that compels the consumer to arbitration as abusive and void), Mexico (rights under the Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor and the jurisdiction of PROFECO, which are not waived in advance), and any other jurisdiction whose mandatory law so provides. Where it does not apply to you, the governing-law section above and your local courts govern your dispute instead.
Agreement to arbitrate. Except for the carve-outs below, you and Wandering Castle LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, under the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq., administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. You and we are giving up the right to a court trial and a jury.
Class-action and class-arbitration waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, claims may be brought only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding; the arbitrator may not preside over any class or representative proceeding. The enforceability of this kind of clause under the Federal Arbitration Act is established by AT&T Mobility LLC v. Concepcion, 563 U.S. 333 (2011), and Epic Systems Corp. v. Lewis, 138 S. Ct. 1612 (2018).
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration section, and it will not bind you, by emailing support@getprayergate.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days after you first accept these Terms (or after these arbitration terms first take effect for you). Opting out has no effect on the rest of these Terms or on your use of the app.
Carve-outs. Nothing here requires arbitration of a claim that qualifies for and stays in small-claims court on an individual basis, or of a request for injunctive or equitable relief to stop infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual-property rights. You may always report a dispute to a government agency empowered to act on your behalf.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, and excluding anything mandatory consumer law does not allow to be shifted to a consumer, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wandering Castle LLC from third-party claims and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms or the EULA, your violation of law or another person's rights, or your use of the gate to control another person's device without their cooperation. This does not apply to ordinary, intended use of the app.
17. Consumers outside the United States
Nothing in these Terms deprives you of any mandatory consumer-protection right of your country of residence that cannot be waived by agreement. The arbitration and class-action waiver above does not apply to you to the extent your local mandatory law makes it unenforceable. In Brazil, under the Consumer Defense Code (Lei nº 8.078/1990), you may bring claims in the courts of your domicile, and clauses compelling arbitration or waiving class actions against a consumer do not bind you; in Mexico, your rights under the Ley Federal de Protección al Consumidor and the jurisdiction of PROFECO are not waived by these Terms.
18. General terms
These Terms, the EULA, the Privacy Policy, and the subscription disclosure are the entire agreement about the app and supersede any prior agreement on that subject, with the English version governing. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is limited or severed and the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or in a merger or sale of assets, on notice to you, without reducing your rights. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, to the extent the law allows. We may give notice by in-app message, by email if you gave us one, or by posting on this site. Sections on spiritual content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, intellectual property, governing law, arbitration, indemnification, and these general terms survive termination.
